If you’re like 4 out of 5 workers in the U.S., you’re haven’t found your ideal job yet. I’ve found mine. And I know a lot of other VAs found theirs, too. Just today, I got an email from a fellow VA who I went to college with, lost touch, and then met up again a few years ago. We even live in the same town. This is what she wrote: “I’m sitting in a coffee shop and eating soup. And working. Omg. I love my job. LOL.”
I feel the same way. I can forward my work phone to my cell phone and run an errand. I can help out a neighbor by running over to let her dog out at lunchtime because she can’t do it (and, in return, get a free night of her babysitting my kids!) I can meet a sick friend at the ER without asking my bosses’ permission. I just can’t imagine having to punch a clock and sit in an office all day. If I get lonely, I can Skype another VA or friend, yet I don’t have to listen to office gossip around the water cooler.
Any VAs feel the same way? If you’re not yet a VA and aren’t currently working in your dream job, what’s stopping you?

I’m a VA and I have to say I have my dream job. What other job allows you to leave for a week to spend time with a sick family member and your clients don’t blink an eye because they know you’ll be there for them the whole time? The other VA’s I’ve met have been the most amazing people, friends and colleagues, I’ve met.
Yes, I have my dream job.
